אויף אייער פראגע, אויף וואס צו געבען אייער צדקה. בין איך געווען צופרידען צו לייענען אין אייער בריף אז איר העלפט אייער ברודער באה"ק ת"ו, ובכלל איז א העלפט פון דער צדקה צוטיילען אויף די מוסדות פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, און איר קענט דאס טאן דורך מיין מזכירות אז דארט זאל דאס פארטיילט ווערען, און די אנדער העלפט צוטיילען אליין און אויך דורך אייער פרוי תחי', און אין דעם אריינגערעכענט אויך די הילף פאר אייער ברודער שי'.

In response to your letter from the fourth of Shemos... Regarding your son, whom you think by placing him in a cheder with less fear of Heaven but better air he will become healthier, and later you will return him to the cheder where he currently learns. I do not agree with this, because if you separate him now, that is certain; whether you will return him later and whether he will be able to make up what he missed is doubtful—and a great doubt at that. Knowing what is written in seforim in general and especially in Chassidus on the verse Yiras Hashem LeChaim (the fear of G‑d brings life), that from fear of Heaven comes health—if even there the air is better, nevertheless the increase in fear of Heaven in his current cheder will also fulfill his physical health. Therefore, he should learn in this cheder Torah with fear of Heaven in good health and happiness. I hope that when you read this part of my letter to your wife she too will agree one hundred percent, knowing that health, livelihood, and success depend only on Hashem Yisborach who gives the Torah.
Regarding your question about where to give your tzedakah: I was pleased to read in your letter that you help your brother in Eretz HaKodesh Tavo U'Techezeh (the Holy Land), and generally half of the tzedakah should be allocated to the institutions of my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden—may his merit protect us—and you can do this through my secretariat so it will be distributed there; and the other half should be distributed by yourself and also through your wife—this includes also helping your brother.
