מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו - שנתקבל באיחור זמן - בו כותב ראשי פרקים מדברי ימי חייו, ופעולתו עתה בתור מדריך למטעים במקצוע החקלאות וגם בביה"ס רשת אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש אשר בתענך, וממשיך אשר ישנם קישוים ובעיות העומדות בפניהם.
ובודאי יודע הבטחת בורא עולם ומנהיגו אשר אינו בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו, ולפום גמלא שיחנא, ז.א. שלכל אחד ניתנו כל הכחות והאפשריות למלאות תפקידו באופן הכי טוב והכי נעלה, ואם בכל תפקיד הדבר אמור, עאכו"כ בהנוגע לעבודה בחינוך על טהרת הקדש, מוסד הקובע ועכ"פ משפיע במדה הכי חשובה, על צורתם של חניכיו למשך כל ימי חייהם שבזה הרי זכות הרבים מסייעת את כל סגל המורים של המוסד, ההנהלה וכל המסייעים בביסוסו והתפתחותו.
תקותי אשר לדכוותי' אין צריך ביאור בגודל וחשיבות התפקיד וכן לא בההדגשה, אשר אף שלכאורה חקלאות וטבע אין זה לימוד כלימודי קדש, כי אם לימוד בהנוגע לטבע ועבודת האדמה, הנה פשיטא אשר גם על זה הוא הציווי דבכל דרכיך דעהו, אשר כלל הוא ברוחניות ובהנהגת האדם (כמבואר ברמב"ם הלכות דיעות ובטור שו"ע או"ח סי' רל"א בארוכה) ובפרט שבטבע תלמיד לחקות את רבו בכל עניניו, אף שמקשיב לקח הוא ממנו רק במקצוע אחר.
ועליו לדעת אשר אלו השומעים לקח בחקלאות וטבע מתבוננים ומביטים אחריו, איך נוהג הוא בעניני תורה ומצות, ומשפיע זה עליהם, ברוב הפעמים ככולו, לא פחות מהשפעתו בהנוגע לידיעת החקלאות והטבע, ולפעמים הכי קרובות ההשפעה בזה עוד גדולה יותר, וכטבע בני הנוער וילדים, שהשפעה הבאה בעקיפין, מתקבל אצלם בנוח יותר ובעומק יותר, מההשפעה הבאה על ידי לימוד הטלת עול ציווי וגזירה.
המורם מהאמור, שבאם עד עתה נהג ע"פ שורת הדין תורה או גם לפנים משוה"ד, ברור שמרגע שההשגחה העליונה עשתו למשפיע על כמה מבנ"י, עליו להוסיף בזה, ובמדה דטופח ע"מ להטפיח, בכדי שאפילו אם רק יחקו אותו למחצה ואולי עוד פחות מזה, בכ"ז לא יחסר המזג ומדה מתאימה להוראת תורתנו.
ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור, ובודאי גדול הזכות להוסיף בברכת השי"ת והצלחתו גם בעניניו הפרטים.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter—which arrived after some delay—in which you outline the main points of your life story and your current work as an instructor in agriculture and also at the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch school in Ta'anach. You continue by mentioning the difficulties and challenges you face.
Certainly you know the assurance of the Creator and Leader of the world, Who does not make unreasonable demands of His creations, and "lefum gamla shichna" (according to the camel is its load), meaning that each person is given all the strengths and possibilities to fulfill his role in the best and loftiest way. If this is true for every task, how much more so regarding work in education on pure holiness—a position that determines or at least greatly influences the character of its students for their entire lives. In this, the merit of the many assists all staff members of the institution—the teachers, administration, and all who help establish and develop it.
I hope that for your honor there is no need to explain the greatness and importance of this role nor to emphasize that even though agriculture and nature may not seem like Torah studies but rather studies about nature and working the land, it is obvious that here too applies the command "bechol derachecha da'eihu" (in all your ways know Him), which is a general principle in spirituality and human conduct (as explained at length in Rambam Hilchot De'ot and Tur Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim siman 231). Especially since it is natural for a student to imitate his teacher in all matters—even if he only listens to him in another subject.
He must know that those who learn from him about agriculture and nature are observing how he behaves regarding Torah and mitzvot. This influences them—most often entirely—not less than his influence on their knowledge of agriculture or nature. In fact, very often this influence is even greater. It is natural for youth and children that indirect influence is received more easily and deeply than influence through direct instruction or imposing commands.
The conclusion from all this: if until now he acted according to strict law or even beyond it, it is clear that from the moment Divine Providence made him an influencer over several Jews, he must increase his efforts—in a manner that overflows to others—so that even if they only imitate him partially or less than half, there will still be enough measure for teaching our Torah appropriately.
May it be G‑d's will that you share good news about all this. Certainly, your great merit will add blessing from Hashem Yisborach and success also in your personal matters.
