די ישיבה איז געגרינדעט געווארן אין דעם ליכטיקען טאג פון ח"י אלול, דעם געבורטסטאג פון די צוויי מאורות הגדולים, דער בעל שם טוב און דער אלטער רבי דער בעל התניא והשלחן ערוך. דורכדעם איז אויך אנגעצייכנט געווארען די אייגנארטיקייט פון די ישיבות תומכי תמימים: צו פארשפרייטען תורה תמימה, נגלה און פנימיות, דורכגעדרונגען מיט יראת השם און אהבת השם, מסירות-נפש און אהבת-ישראל, מיט אן אינערלעכען אחריות געפיל פארן כלל און פארן פרט.
גולה אחר גולה, איין גלות נאכן צוויטען, האבען די ישיבות תומכי תמימים דורכגעמאכט, אין מערערע ערטער אין רוסלאנד אליין, ארץ ישראל ת"ו, פולין, לעטלאנד, ביז די השגחה עליונה האט איבערגעפלאנצט די צענטראלע ישיבה אין אמעריקא מיט זיבעצען יאר צוריק.
אבער - שם ביתו. אומעטום האט מען אויפגעשטעלט די תומכי-תמימים'דיקע ד' אמות של תורה און ד' אמות של תפלה. איבעראל האט די ישיבה אפגעהיט איר אייגנארטיקייט און דערפילט איר צוועק און אויפגאבע מיט מסירות-נפש.
די טיפע ווארצלען וואס זי האט פארפלאנצט האבען געבראכט פירות און פירי-פירות און אויפגעהאלטען אידישקייט וואו זיי האבען זיך נאר געפונען, אין סאוויעטן רוסלאנד ווי אין אנדערע טיילען פון דער וועלט. און די תלמידים פון די ליובאוויטשער ישיבות, די "תמימים" זיינען היינט צו טאג פון די גרעסטע שעפערישע כוחות אויפן געביט פון החזקת התורה וקיום המצות בכלל, און אין חינוך הכשר בפרט: אין אמעריקא, ארץ ישראל, קאנאדא, אירופא, מאראקא, אויסטראליע א.א.וו.
ליידער און צום גרעסטן באדויערן איז די ווייטערע אנטוויקלוג און אויסשפרייטונג פון די ליובאוויטשער ישיבות און זייער לעבנס-וויכטיקע ארבעט שטארק באשווערט פון א לאסט חובות און דעפיציטען. און דארום ווענדעט זיך הנהלת "תומכי תמימים" מיט א הילף'ס רוף צו אחינו בני ישראל נאך זייער דרינגענדע שטיצע, און זיכער וועט זיך דער ברייטער אמעריקאנער אידישער עולם הארציק אפרופן אויף דעם הילפס רוף, בפרט אין די איצטיקע טעג פון רחמים, און העלפען ניט נאר אפווישען די אלטע דעפיציטען, נאר אויך שאפען א פינאנציעלען באזיס פאר איר וואקסענדער ארבעט אין דער צוקונפט.
און גרויס איז דער זכות פון נעמען אן אנטייל און ווערן א שותף אין דער אויפהאלטונג און פארברייטערונג פון "תומכי תמימים" אויף צו באקומען די ברכות פון אויבערשטן אין אלעם וואס מען נויטיגט זיך, בגשמיות וברוחניות.

To the public activists, lovers of Torah, and generous supporters of the people of Hashem—may Hashem be upon them and grant them life—many greetings and blessings!
This year, on the eighteenth day (Chai) of Elul, marks sixty years since the founding of the "Tomchei Tmimim" Yeshiva-Lubavitch by the Rebbe Rashab, father of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us. The yeshiva was established on this luminous day of Chai Elul, which is also the birthday of two great luminaries: the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch.
Through this, the unique character of Tomchei Tmimim yeshivas was defined: to spread complete Torah—both revealed and inner dimensions—imbued with awe and love of Hashem, self-sacrifice, and Ahavas Yisrael, with a deep sense of responsibility for both community and individual.
Exile after exile—one following another—the Tomchei Tmimim yeshivas endured in many places: within Russia itself, Eretz Yisrael (may it be rebuilt), Poland, Latvia—until Divine Providence transplanted the central yeshiva to America seventeen years ago. Yet everywhere it went, it remained its true home. In every place, Tomchei Tmimim established its own four cubits of Torah and prayer. Everywhere, it preserved its uniqueness and fulfilled its purpose with self-sacrifice.
The deep roots it planted have borne fruit and further fruit, sustaining Judaism wherever they found themselves—in Soviet Russia as well as other parts of the world. The students of Lubavitcher yeshivas—the "Tmimim"—are today among the greatest creative forces in supporting Torah and mitzvah observance in general and kosher education in particular: in America, Eretz Yisrael, Canada, Europe, Morocco, Australia, etc.
Unfortunately—and to our deepest regret—the further development and expansion of Lubavitcher yeshivas and their vital work is greatly burdened by debts and deficits. Therefore, the administration of "Tomchei Tmimim" turns with an urgent appeal to our Jewish brethren for their immediate support. Surely the broad American Jewish community will respond warmly to this call for help—especially during these days of mercy—and will help not only erase old deficits but also create a financial foundation for its growing work in the future.
Great indeed is the merit to take part and become a partner in sustaining and spreading "Tomchei Tmimim," thereby receiving blessings from Above in all one's needs—both material and spiritual.
