Moshiach and Geulah – Awaiting Moshiach: faith, anticipation and exile

The Rebbe's teaching on awaiting Moshiach — faith, anticipation and the meaning of exile:

Awaiting every day. Saying "Ani Maamin" each day expresses unwavering faith that Moshiach will come, and a Jew awaits him every day (IK 288). Actively awaiting Moshiach not only expresses faith — it actually hastens the redemption (IK 9010). Look forward to the redemption and build according to the Previous Rebbe's vision (IK 604, 10368), and anticipate it together with one's family (IK 7802). Awaiting Moshiach is meaningful wherever one serves G-d (IK 3561).

No calculations, no premature labels. Avoid speculative calculations about when Moshiach will come; focus instead on faith and on spreading Chassidus (IK 7578, 3343). Labeling current events as "the beginning of the redemption" is misleading and spiritually harmful (IK 3104), and according to halachah we are still in exile (IK 5752).

Exile and darkness. Physical hardship is part of exile, but inner turmoil can be overcome by focusing on one's mission (IK 5467). Use every opportunity in exile to spread light and prepare for the redemption (IK 680, 4679). True redemption transforms darkness into light and even opposition into support (IK 9715, 8266, 9057).

Comfort. In Menachem Av we anticipate an incomparable consolation from G-d (IK 9531, 7710). Days of redemption, such as the chassidic holidays, strengthen the hope for the complete redemption (IK 9525, 9931).
