Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was pleased to receive your letter from the eleventh of Adar Rishon, with the good news that the first three classes in Sefer Tanya Kadisha have taken place. With three times, according to all opinions, a chazakah (established status) is formed—establishing not only a committee but an acquisition of the body and animal soul through the second soul in Israel, which is truly a part of G‑d above. Through this, even they (the body and animal soul) will be subjugated to the authority of the G‑dly soul, completely nullified before it and serving as its vehicle—until they are filled solely with aspects and garments of the G‑dly soul, with no foreign element passing among them, G‑d forbid (Tanya ch. 9). This aligns with the oath administered to every soul... leading to both iskafya (subjugation) and ultimately ithapcha (transformation) from darkness to light and from bitterness to sweetness. This is the purpose and completion of creation—both for "the small world that is man" and for "the world at large," as our Sages said: The ultimate purpose for which this world was created—G‑d desired to have a dwelling place in the lowest realms.

These days are auspicious ones—the days of Adar—whose focal point is Purim. Its theme is "VeNahafoch Hu" (it was turned around), until even simple folk become Yehudim because "the fear of the Jews fell upon them." It is known (see Rama in Mechir Yayin) that this fear experienced by Jews—the awe of G‑d—also falls upon non-Jews; primarily this refers to one's own body and animal soul (see Likkutei Torah D"H Tov Lachasot), through which one fulfills what has already been accepted, as explained at length in Purim discourses.

With honor and regards to all participants in this study—which possesses two advantages: public Torah study, and being in a section of Torah where there is no dispute but rather unity up to oneness—as stated by RaMaM (Iggeres HaKodesh sec. 26), well-known words.

With blessings that speedily in our days we merit fulfillment of the promise that "the first redeemer is also the final redeemer," as RaMaM writes there—that Israel will taste from the Tree of Life...and will go out from exile with compassion...

Awaiting good news.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that consistent Tanya study establishes spiritual strength within oneself, especially during Adar—a time ripe for transformation. Unity in Torah learning brings us closer to redemption and fulfills G‑d's desire for a dwelling below.
