זה עתה קבלתי מכתבו.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי, לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
וה' אלקי צבאות יברכו בהצלחה בתפקידו הכי אחראי בכלל, ובפרט בימים אלו, ובמו עיניו יראה, בסגנון הכתוב, כי ה' אלקיך מתהלך בקרב מחנך להצילך ולתת אויביך לפניך והי' מחניך קדוש (דברים כג, טו) ומכאן שלב אחר שלב וראו כל עמי הארץ כי שם ה' נקרא עליך ויראו ממך (דברים כח, י) ולאחרי זה השלב של ונתתי שלום בארץ גו' וחרב לא תעבור בארצכם (ויקרא כו, ו) – "אפילו
חרב
של שלום", ובימיו ובימינו יקויים היעוד לא ישא גוי אל גוי חרב ולא ילמדו עוד מלחמה (ישעי' ב, ד) בגאולה האמתית והשלימה בבוא משיח צדקנו, אשר גם בזה יהי' עמנו ישראל אור לכל העמים, וכהקדמת המבואר שם – והלכו עמים רבים ואמרו לכו ונעלה אל הר ה' אל בית אלקי יעקב (שם, שם ג') אשר ילכו באור ה'.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
Mr. Chaim Bar-Lev, Shalom u'Vrachah! I have just received your letter. As we approach the new year that is coming upon us and all of Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually together.
And may the L‑rd, G‑d of Hosts, bless you with success in your most responsible position in general, and especially in these days. With your own eyes you will see, in the style of the verse: Ki Hashem Elokecha Mithalech Bekerev Machanecha LeHatzilecha U'Letet Oyvecha Lefanecha VeHayah Machanecha Kadosh ("For the L‑rd your G‑d walks in the midst of your camp to save you and give your enemies before you; therefore your camp shall be holy") (Devarim 23:15). And from here step by step: VeRau Kol Ame HaAretz Ki Shem Hashem Nikra Alecha VeYare'u Mimeka ("And all the peoples of the earth will see that the name of the L‑rd is called upon you and they will fear you") (Devarim 28:10). And after this comes the stage of VeNatati Shalom BaAretz... VeCherev Lo Ta'avor BeArtzechem ("And I will grant peace in the land... and a sword will not pass through your land") (Vayikra 26:6) – even a sword of peace. And in his days and in our days will be fulfilled the prophecy: Lo Yisa Goy El Goy Cherev Velo Yilmdu Od Milchamah ("Nation shall not lift up sword against nation nor shall they learn war anymore") (Yeshayahu 2:4) with the true and complete redemption with the coming of Mashiach Tzidkeinu. In this too our people Israel will be a light to all nations, as explained there beforehand – VeHalchu Amim Rabim VeAmru Lechu Vena'aleh El Har Hashem El Beit Elokei Yaakov ("Many peoples shall go and say: Come let us go up to the mountain of the L‑rd to the house of the G‑d of Yaakov") (ibid., ibid., v.3) who will walk in the light of Hashem.
With honor and with many blessings for success.
