נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מכ"ט ניסן, חדש הגאולה, ערב ראש חדש זיו, בו מבשר טוב, מסיום הש"ס, הנלמד ברבים בבית הכנסת, בשבוע הבע"ל.
ויהי רצון שיהי' הסיום מתוך שמחה והתלהבות אור וזיו, וכן ההתחלה מחדש, וכנוסח התפלה ללמוד וללמד לשמור ולעשות ולקיים וכו'. ויקוים בכל אחד ואחד הסיום דתפלה זו, שלא תמוש התורה מפי ומפי זרעי וזרע זרעי עד עולם, ובימיהם ובימינו נזכה לקיום היעוד, ככתוב בחותם תפלה האמורה, ובסיום הש"ס, ה' עוז לעמו יתן ה' יברך את עמו בשלום, בביאת משיח צדקנו, שבאותו הזמן לא יהי' קנאה ותחרות וכו', ויהיו ישראל חכמים גדולים, ויודעים דברים הסתומים וכו'.
וכבר ביארו רבותינו נשיאינו, אשר השגת תכלית זו, תלוי' במעשינו ועבודתינו כל זמן משך הגלות וכו'.
אשר למרות החשך כפול ומכופל דליל הגלות, יהיו קורין את שמע בערבית זו עד שיעלה עמוד השחר, שחר גאולה האמתית והשלימה, בב"א.
בכבוד ובברכה לבשו"ט בכל האמור.

I was pleased to receive your letter from the 29th of Nisan, the month of redemption, Eve of Rosh Chodesh Ziv, in which you bring good news about the completion of Shas studied publicly in the synagogue during the coming week.
May it be G‑d's will that the siyum take place with joy and enthusiasm, light and radiance—as well as the new beginning—according to the prayer text: "to learn and to teach, to guard and to do and to fulfill," etc.
May it be fulfilled for each person as at the end of this prayer: "The Torah shall not depart from my mouth nor from my descendants nor my descendants' descendants forever," and in their days and ours may we merit fulfillment of the promise as written at the close of that prayer and at the conclusion of Shas: "Hashem oz le'amo yiten Hashem yevarech et amo vashalom" (Hashem will give strength to His people; Hashem will bless His people with peace), with the coming of our righteous Moshiach—when there will be no more jealousy or competition etc., and Israel will be great sages who know hidden matters etc.
Our Rebbeim have already explained that achieving this goal depends on our actions and service throughout all the time of exile etc.
Despite the doubled darkness of exile night, they will recite Shema in this evening until dawn rises—the dawn of true and complete redemption—speedily.
With honor and blessing for only good news in all mentioned above.
