Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Monday: I requested that you promptly contact Anash in Albany regarding the matter you wrote about. Surely you are also in touch with them yourself. May it be His will that from you and from them there will be praise for the Supreme Name—especially in the most elevated matter: the purity of the people of Israel. Purity brings about, as is known, the coming of Eliyahu HaNavi who heralds our true redemption through Mashiach Tzidkeinu.

Regarding what you wrote about comments for your book—what can I do? Many distractions surround me. The Mishnah's saying applies: "Do not say: 'When I have leisure I will study,' for perhaps you will never have leisure."

You mentioned that someone approached you regarding a ruling from me—it's well known that this is not customary, especially in matters already discussed by many and also cited in his books.

May it be His will that as we come from Pesach—the season of our freedom—from forty-nine gates of impurity, counting and drawing closer each day to receiving the Torah (the tablets inscribed by the finger of G‑d), "charut al haluchot" (engraved on the tablets)—do not read 'charut' (engraved) but 'cherut' (freedom), complete freedom from the yetzer hara—not only ruling over it but even when it expresses its opinion in judgment it will pass from this world. See Tanya beginning chapter 13 and chapter 37: their completion and purpose depend on our actions and service. Then abundant influence will flow into all worlds through rectifying our nefesh-ruach-neshamah from any blemish or flaw; this rectification comes through Torah study with awe of Heaven and fulfillment of its mitzvos.

This applies not only to oneself but also "emor ve'amarta" (say and say again)—to caution adults regarding minors—not only about forbidden creatures (which is an act done to provoke; see Horayot 11a: eating a flea etc.), but even eating blood which simply benefits health (see Berachot 44b: every soul etc., close to life etc.; also Ramban Vayikra 17:11). Even more so regarding matters of impurity that are solely decrees of Scripture—for "it is not the dead who defile... rather a decree I have issued, a statute I have enacted" (see Yevamot 114a). Through this we merit freedom from nations of the world, subjugation to kingdoms—in the true and complete redemption through Mashiach Tzidkeinu speedily in our days.

With blessing for good news.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that personal and communal purity leads to redemption. He urges diligent Torah study with awe of Heaven, observance of mitzvos, and sharing these values with others—drawing inspiration from current parsha lessons—to bring spiritual refinement and hasten geulah.
