Shalom u'Vrachah!

For your Bar Mitzvah celebration, I am sending you my blessings: that on this day when you become an adult, you will continue to grow in your studies and conduct, and your parents and grandparents will derive much satisfaction and delight from you.

In the days of Mordechai, when the Jewish people were in exile, Haman the Agagite sought to destroy all Jews. What did Mordechai do? He gathered the youth of Israel and studied Torah with them, and through this, the decree was nullified.

When the Jewish people were in their land, each under his vine, Ephraim and Yehudah as one nation in the land, with Shlomo ben David their king at their head who built a house for Hashem, our sages instructed that students should not interrupt their Torah study even for building the Beis HaMikdash! For the Torah is a tree of life to those who grasp it.

By virtue of Moshe's Torah which he commanded at Chorev to all Israel—statutes and laws—and through observing its mitzvos, we will withstand all those who rise against us in exile. We will soon merit the great day when He will turn the hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers, and redeem us through Moshiach Menachem who restores our souls.

Be strong and courageous in Torah study and mitzvah observance!
