I wish you a joyful Shabbos Mevorchim, especially this Shabbos which is also Parshas HaChodesh where we begin to speak about the Geulah (redemption), and may the Aibershter grant that we merit the complete and true Geulah.

Certainly, according to the takanah of my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden (of blessed memory), you will have a farbrengen this Shabbos, and may Hashem grant that it be successful both materially and spiritually.

Regarding your inquiry about the matter of peh-vav (86) sparks: This is explained—albeit briefly—in Torah Or Parshas Vayeishev, beginning with "VeHineh Anachnu Me'almin Alumim," chapter 2: In general, the world was created from G‑dly powers which are generally divided into reish-peh-ches (288) sparks; each spark is itself a generality and subdivides into many parts. From these were made all things in the world—that is, mineral, vegetable, animal, human; matters of eating and drinking; garments; etc.—which must be refined; that is, extracting all these sparks from those things that conceal and obscure them. This is accomplished by Jews. In Egypt's exile Jews refined reish-beis (202) sparks—as it says in the verse "vegam erev rav alah itam" (and also a mixed multitude went up with them)—and what remains to be refined in the subsequent exiles are the remaining peh-vav (86) sparks—the gematria of Elokim.
