עם ב' הפ"נ שיקראו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.
ויהי רצון שבהמצאנו בערב היום אשר הואיל משה באר את התורה הזאת, ומבאר תיכף, פנו וסעו לכם וגו' ורשו את הארץ אשר נשבע ה' לאבותיכם וגו' לתת להם וגו' - אשר הקיום במילואו בפועל לא נתקיים (עיין סנהדרין צ, ע"ב, לכם לא נאמר אלא לתת להם וכו', וכן הרי הארץ אשר נשבע, היא דעשר עממין, וכפרש"י (מספרי) עה"כ ואל כל שכניו).
והנה הימים האלה (כשהם) נזכרים (ה"ה גם) ונעשים, וכמו גם אז, אם זכו, הרי הי' הכבוש שלם וקיים.
הנה יקוים היעוד בעגלא דידן, וכדרז"ל שם, מכאן לתחיית המתים וכו', והקיצו ורננו שוכני עפר, ובעל הציון ובעל ההילולא הבע"ל בראשם.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 24th of Teves, the day of the hilulah of our master the Alter Rebbe, along with two pan notes to be read at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.
May it be G‑d's will that as we find ourselves on the eve of the day when Moshe began to explain this Torah—immediately followed by 'Turn and journey for yourselves... and inherit the land that the L‑rd swore to your fathers... to give them...' (the full fulfillment in practice has not yet occurred; see Sanhedrin 90b: 'for you' was not said but rather 'to give them,' etc., and likewise 'the land which He swore' refers to all ten nations, as Rashi explains from Sifrei on 'and to all his neighbors').
And behold, these days (when they are) recalled (they are also) enacted; just as then, if they merited it would have been a complete and lasting conquest. So may this promise be fulfilled speedily in our days—as our Sages say there: from here is proof for resurrection of the dead—'and those who dwell in dust will awake and sing,' with the owner of the resting place and owner of the hilulah at their head.
