Shalom u'Vrachah! [Eve of Sukkot 5710]

Regarding the issue of two sisters, you raised a difficulty that there is no proof from the Yerushalmi (Taanit chapter 4 halacha 5) — the proof that they do not succeed comes from the old version there and in Eichah Rabbah chapter 2, and they are both connected. The proof from Rami bar Chama is that he did not live long. ... My comment that it is not understood is about what is said: "I have told today about something that happened many hundreds of years ago." And I noted "to the kohen and not to the king," because such stories are more fitting for a leader of a country than for a kohen.

What I explained about "today... I have come," means that every single day one must merit anew to dwell in Eretz Yisrael. This is based on what is written: "and it will not vomit out..." etc. This refers to an individual's exile, not only the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash.

My main intention was related to this year's topic regarding the annulment of the Mandate, etc., and a hint suffices for the wise.

May Hashem grant us that in this year of Hashem we merit the true and complete redemption, and all Israel will unite and sit in one sukkah — meaning through mitzvah observance, especially this mitzvah which commemorates the Clouds of Glory — so that there should never be among Israel those whom the cloud expels, G‑d forbid.

With wishes for a joyous festival.
