A few days ago I received your letter about sending the sefer Chidushei Sh"Y, and today I received the sefer itself. Thank you for this. Although time does not permit, I am nevertheless responding as you suggested with some brief comments written in haste as time is short; these are copied in the margins.
As we enter the Festival of Lights—these days of Chanukah—may it be G‑d's will that you continue to increase in "Ner Mitzvah VeTorah Or" (the mitzvah candle is Torah light), and that the illumination within Torah—which is the inner dimension of Torah revealed and explained in our generation through Chassidus—should shine forth to dispel the darkness of exile likened to night, until the promise is fulfilled: "And night will shine like day" with the true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu from among eight princes of man (see Torah Or by our master the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, 33d; 34c).
