...Certainly you are participating in the Anash farbrengen, for “great is drinking together for it brings people closer,” etc., and through closeness depends also the end of our exile, which came about because of baseless hatred (sinat chinam). As our Sages said, from this it is understood that the correction must be in a fitting manner—that is, through ahavat chinam (baseless love), as has been discussed many times.
And even though it would seem that there cannot be “baseless” love here, since there is a great principle in Torah: “And you shall love your fellow as yourself,” nevertheless it must be that this applies even to those who are not considered your fellow or peer in Torah and mitzvot—and despite all this, one must love them, etc. See Tanya chapter 32 and Sefer HaMitzvos by the tzt"z on the mitzvah of Ahavas Yisrael; also see the tzt"z's glosses to Tanya chapter 32 (in Sefer Kitzurim v'He'aros l'Tanya p. 36).
