Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter with its enclosure, and enclosed here is the receipt. As I was on the eve of Rosh Chodesh Menachem at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, I mentioned you in accordance with the content of your letter.
As we stand on Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av—which, as its name implies, our Father in Heaven comforts each and every one of His children—'My firstborn son Israel,' and 'You are children to the L‑rd your G‑d'—in exchange for those matters that occurred over these recent days and weeks, may it be His will that all this be seen also with physical eyes and in revealed good: rebuilding instead of destruction; "u'faratzta yamah v'kedmah v'tzafonah v'negvah" (and you shall spread out westward and eastward and northward and southward) instead of 'bein hametzarim' (the Three Weeks), speedily in our days through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
Regarding your comment on Likkutei Torah Pinchas (77c, section beginning "BaOr"): In Ein Sof (Ohr Ein Sof)—seemingly it should read "b'Ain Sof." Similarly one can say regarding the following line; however, in some places even Ain Sof is called Ohr Ein Sof (see Likkutei Torah Shir HaShirim 8a and elsewhere). For Ain Sof does not refer to His very Essence and Being itself, for He also has no beginning. As explained by the Rama MiPano as brought and clarified in Likkutei Torah Pekudei (7b).
With blessing for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe writes about G‑d's comforting presence during Menachem Av and clarifies a subtle point about the term Ein Sof in chassidic texts. He encourages seeing revealed good even after difficult times.
