הגיעתני שמועה, אשר מטעם הנהלת העיר ניו יוארק, עומדים להסיר הבנין, בו נמצא, בית הכנסת ובית המדרש שלהם, ובודאי כדין וכחוק תמורת סכום מספיק לרכוש בית הכנסת ובית המדרש המתאים למנהגם ולענינם.
ובודאי למותר להעיר שימת לבבם, על ההכרח הגדול בעוד מועד למצוא מקום ובנין, לשם יוכלו להעביר בית הכנסת ובית המדרש להמשיך ענינם מתאים להנוסח ומסורה מכמה וכמה שנים נוסח האריז"ל ומנהגיו בעניני תפלה ועניני בית הכנסת בכלל, ביחד עם שיעורי תורה הנלמדים ברבים, כמנהג ישראל סבא, וכנוהג שלהם בבית הכנסת ובית המדרש שלהם עד עתה.
אלא שע"פ מאמר רז"ל, אין מזרזין אלא למזורזין, באתי בזה להוסיף, אשר בודאי ובודאי ימשיכו בפעולות האמורות, בבית הכנסת ובית המדרש במקום החדש, כמו שהתנהגו עד עתה, כוונתי באופן עצמאי, מבלי שותפות וכיו"ב, בשביל שיהי' ביכולתם המלאה, לשמור על טהרת המנהגים והנוסח וכו', וכידוע גודל ההפלגה בזה בתורתנו הק', הזהרו במנהג אבותיכם בידיכם (ביצה ד, ע"ב).
ויהי רצון אשר חפץ ה' בידם יצליח, להמשיך בכל עניני בית הכנסת ובית המדרש צמח צדק נוסח האריז"ל, באופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור.
ובקרוב יקוים היעוד, עתידין בתי כנסיות ובתי מדרשות שבבבל שיקבעו בארץ ישראל, בביאת משיח צדקנו בגאולה האמיתית והשלימה.

I have received news that the city administration of New York is planning to remove the building where your synagogue and study hall are located, certainly according to law and with sufficient compensation to acquire a suitable synagogue and study hall fitting your customs and needs.
It is surely unnecessary to point out the great necessity, while there is still time, to find a place and building where you can transfer your synagogue and study hall in order to continue your activities according to your nusach (rite) and tradition of many years—the Arizal nusach and its customs regarding prayer and synagogue matters in general—together with public Torah classes as is the custom of our ancestors, as you have conducted until now in your synagogue and study hall.
However, based on our Sages' saying that "we only urge those who are already diligent," I am writing here additionally that you will certainly continue these aforementioned activities in the new location as you have until now—meaning independently, without partnership or similar arrangements—so that you will be fully able to safeguard the purity of your customs and nusach, etc., as is well known how greatly this is emphasized in our holy Torah: "Be careful with the customs of your ancestors in your hands" (Beitzah 4b).
May it be G‑d's will that His desire succeed through your efforts—to continue all matters of the Tzemach Tzedek Arizal Nusach synagogue and study hall in a manner of ever-increasing growth and light. And soon may the prophecy be fulfilled: synagogues and study halls from Babylon will be established in Eretz Yisrael with the coming of our righteous Moshiach in the true and complete redemption.
