...ובמענה על שאלתו אם ישתדל לנסוע לכאן ללמוד פה בישיבתינו הנה נכון הדבר וכידוע פסק רז"ל הוי גולה למקום תורה. ואם יש קישויים בנסיעה לכאן, יש להשתדל אודות הנסיעה לישיבת תומכי תמימים בלוד באה"ק ת"ו. והשי"ת יצליחו בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות ולהיות ירא שמים חסיד ולמדן, וכפסק רז"ל גם בתורת הנגלה, שבאיזה אופן יש קיום לאמונת עתיך חוסן ישועות חכמה ודעת הוא דוקא עי"ז שיראת ד' היא אוצרו, ארץ מלחה כפירוש רש"י וכמבואר בלקוטי תורה סוף פרשה ויקרא ענין המלח בתורתנו הק' שהוא לימוד פנימיות התורה אשר בדורנו זה נתגלה בתורת החסידות.

הנה בזה נוגע מאיזה "צד" יקח האברכים, שאם הם נמצאים משמאל ל... הרי יישר חילו ויוסיף אומץ בזה, ובלבד שלא יבלבלם בעניני פוליטיק, ואם הם מימין ל... היינו שהם דתיים יותר, הרי מובן שבתורה ומצות ובפרט ביראת שמים הרי זה הולך למעלה מעלה עד אין קץ (כיון שזהו חכמתו ורצונו של הקב"ה, שהוא אין סוף), ובמילא יש לעלות גם בזה הלוך ונסוע הימין הנגבה וכפסק רז"ל גם בתורת הנגלה שתלמידי חכמים אין להם מנוחה לא בעוה"ז ולא בעוה"ב.

...In response to your question about whether you should strive to travel here to study at our yeshiva: this is indeed proper, as is well known from our Sages' ruling—'exile yourself to a place of Torah.' If there are difficulties in traveling here, you should strive to travel to the Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim in Lod in Eretz HaKodesh. May Hashem grant you success in studying both the revealed Torah and Chassidus, and in becoming G‑d-fearing, a chassid, and a scholar. As our Sages rule also in the revealed Torah: in whatever way one can fulfill 'Emunas Itecha Chosen Yeshuos Chochmah V'Daas' (faith of your times will be the strength of salvation, wisdom and knowledge) it is specifically through 'the fear of Hashem is his treasure.' An 'eretz melachah' (salty land), as Rashi explains and as clarified in Likkutei Torah at the end of Parshas Vayikra regarding salt in our holy Torah—this refers to learning the inner dimension of Torah which in our generation has been revealed through Chassidus. Regarding your study schedule, consult with your mashpia and rosh yeshiva.

P.S.: Regarding what you wrote about the Avrech... who is from... and wishes to draw students closer to... and asks if this is appropriate. In this matter it depends from which "side" he draws the Avrechim: if they are on the left side of..., then may he strengthen his efforts and increase his courage in this—as long as he does not confuse them with political matters. If they are on the right side of..., meaning they are more religious, then it is understood that in Torah and mitzvos—especially awe of Heaven—one must always ascend higher without limit (since this is the wisdom and will of Hakadosh Baruch Hu, Who is infinite). Therefore one must always rise further—'go rightward southward,' as our Sages rule also in revealed Torah: 'Torah scholars have no rest—not in this world nor in the World to Come.'
Enclosed is an excerpt from a talk given on Shabbos Mevarchim Sivan which would be worthwhile to publicize among broader circles, since every day contains an aspect of giving—and therefore receiving—the Torah.
