As we approach the new year, which is coming upon us and all of Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to your honor and all that is yours: a blessing for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year in both material and spiritual matters.

In continuation to your visit and our conversation, and in accordance with what is written: "Chaver ani lechol asher yera'ucha v'gomer" (I am a friend to all who fear You, etc.), I am enclosing my private note regarding that matter about what you mentioned during your visit. Also attached here is a copy of my general letter for the upcoming year, which follows the Shemittah year that is a Sabbath to Hashem. Our Sages explained that this is just as it is said regarding Shabbat Bereishit—that even the night was illuminated. May it be G‑d's will that speedily in our days we merit the fulfillment of the prophecy that 'the night will shine like the day' through the coming of our righteous Mashiach.
