In response to your letter from the 25th of Adar in which you write about your birthday, you are surely increasing in matters of Judaism and mitzvos as our holy Torah, the Torah of Life, commands: to ascend in holiness. Besides fulfilling this essential commandment, it is also the channel and vessel for receiving the blessings of Hashem in all that is needed.

May it be the will of Hashem that the coming year be a good one for you—a year of success both materially and spiritually—and may you share good news regarding all that was mentioned.

P.S. Regarding what you wrote about feeling lonely—this is truly surprising! Surely you know the saying of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, nasi Yisrael: "Chassidus has accomplished that one is not alone," meaning Chassidus has removed the concept of loneliness. If this applies to the bond between Rebbe and chassid as explained at length there, how much more so does it apply to connections between people in one's environment—and certainly to the bond between Hashem and the Jewish people. This is especially clear according to our Torah's teaching about Divine Providence: that Hashem watches over every detail of life with individual supervision; His watchfulness, blessing, and goodness are all one because their source is absolute unity.

From this it follows regarding practical feeling and worldview: each person finds themselves in a world filled with many types of creations—speaking beings (humans), living creatures (animals), plants, and inanimate objects—and one's influence extends upon them all; likewise, everything in the world influences each person (even though these influences are obviously not at all alike). Since this is so, each person is filled with content—at least potentially—and it depends on them to actualize this potential. This applies fundamentally to every Jew whose role is to be a partner in creation as described above.

Regarding you specifically—the wonder increases many times over! For Divine Providence has granted you a position in educating Jewish children—the children of Hashem. Every good action or influence you have upon them creates an eternal closeness between you—spiritual and holy—which benefits even on a physical level. In these matters distance does not interrupt nor can separation occur (which is why it is eternal). In other words: when you sit alone in your room feeling lonely, yet at that very moment one of your students or those influenced by you reviews a lesson learned from you or blesses Hashem as you taught them—this adds vitality and light to your connection with them. It is impossible for your G‑dly soul not to feel this increase since this matter stems from its very essence; after all, one's inner core is their nefesh Elokis (G‑dly soul), which truly animates even their animal soul.

I know not everyone feels this because it cannot be seen with physical eyes nor touched by hand—but this does not diminish its reality at all. Therefore, with just a bit of contemplation one can open up from their nefesh Elokis to their intellect and even influence their animal soul accordingly. Since people are subject to change there are times when special arousal or extra effort is needed; then it helps greatly to meet with—or at least speak about—students or those influenced by you or discuss lessons given etc., for voice awakens intention and speech reveals matters further.

This tendency is common—almost natural—in people; as our Sages say: "He claimed wheat but admitted barley," meaning sometimes we substitute another reason for the real cause. In your case it seems that since you have not yet found your match (shidduch), this affects your state. Here I must ask you to convey on my behalf to each of your brothers that it is both wondrous and regrettable they are not doing all they should regarding this matter. After all, Hashem's blessing rests upon you as it says: "And Hashem will bless you in all that you do." Act naturally and properly—and that's enough said.
