Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 12th of Sivan.

Regarding what you wrote about the names of the groom and his father-in-law, that each has two names and only one of them is shared by both: It is known that the ruling of our master the Alter Rebbe—the author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—and the ruling of his grandson, the Tzemach Tzedek, is that there is no reason for concern in this matter (see Shut Tzemach Tzedek Even HaEzer siman 143, and in Piskei Dinim to Tzemach Tzedek Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah siman 116).

As for what you wrote regarding the reason—that then a woman would call her husband by her father's name—there is debate about this in several books. However, Rambam writes that it refers to a name that is not common. See also Shut Tzafnat Paneach (by Gaon HaRogatchover) siman 128 part I, and in Sefer Otzar HaPoskim vol. I p. 100ff.

With blessing.

Summary

The Rebbe clarifies that when a groom and his father-in-law share one name out of two, halacha does not consider it problematic based on authoritative rulings. He references classic sources for further study on this topic.
