Shalom u'Vrachah!

The people of Kfar Chabad and their families—may G‑d be upon them—abundant peace and blessings without end!

Their communal pan (pidyon nefesh) has been received. I read it on the eve of Rosh Chodesh Matan Torah at the resting place of the founder and director of Kfar Chabad, my revered father-in-law the Rebbe, who stands and serves above, arousing great mercy for the fulfillment of their heart's desires for good, for strengthening and expanding the village, and for fulfilling its role as a center for spreading the wellsprings in Eretz HaKodesh—may it be rebuilt and established—with tranquility of soul and body, with broad-mindedness, joy, and gladness of heart.

I suggested that during the twenty-four hours of Zman Matan Torateinu—which is also the yahrzeit of David Malka Meshicha (King David) and the Baal Shem Tov—they should divide into shifts: some reciting Tehillim (Psalms), others learning Chassidus—the villagers themselves as well as Anash (our people) and students from Lod who will celebrate in Kfar Chabad. They should conclude and seal the festival with a chassidic gathering as true brothers—for we all have one father—with inspiration and resolutions to strengthen all matters of the village, especially existing educational institutions and founding new ones: a printing press, a seminary for girls, etc.

With blessings that they will merit—together with all Israel—the words of the Giver of the Torah: "Bechukosai (in My statutes—engraving in Torah and engraving in soul) telechu (progress without limit), v'es mitzvosai tishmoru v'asisem (with your right hand; see maamar 'Im Bechukosai' in Sefer HaMaamarim 5666)—and I will give your land its yield; trees will bear fruit; you will dwell securely; I will grant peace; I will remove harmful beasts; I will walk among you; I will lead you upright." And as our Sages say (Bava Basra 75a): "two statures"—in revealed Torah and in Chassidus—in soul and body, materially and spiritually.

With blessings for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness; for good tidings in visible goodness (for all agree on Atzeres that 'we need [the festival] for yourselves'), and immediately to the true and complete redemption.

Summary

The Rebbe encourages unity, joyful celebration, communal Torah study, strengthening education in Kfar Chabad, and fulfilling their mission to spread Chassidus—all with blessings for material and spiritual growth leading to redemption.
