I received your letters in due time, and surely by now you have already received all the booklets and letters attached to them.

In connection with the upcoming month of Kislev, it is worthwhile to make the necessary preparations to utilize the days of the holidays and the farbrengens of Yud Tes Kislev, Yud Kislev, and the days of Chanukah in a fitting manner and with proper publicity.

d) It is possible that during these days the copying here of the Yud Tes Kislev booklet into Lashon HaKodesh will be completed; then a copy will be sent to you so that you can print it immediately and send it to the necessary places. But obviously this is not enough; there must also be preparation in distant places by finding suitable people to speak about the holiday's Torah portion. This should have been arranged with Moreinu HaRav Shalom from Tussaw so that he would inform each of his acquaintances and those influenced by him about this matter with general instructions on what to speak about—and mainly about practical actions that can be requested from them—both in recruiting students for "Oholei Yosef Yitzchak" and for strengthening [the institutions].

e) A set of Sdei Chemed was sent as a gift to Rabbi Talidani for his participation in our institutions. When he receives it he will surely know about this, and I hope this will also encourage him further in our work.

f) Regarding what you wrote about printing in their newspaper—that someone here could translate into French—it is very difficult to find such a person here. It would be best to find an expert locally for this task; even if some usual expense is required, it is worthwhile. You can send a copy here before it is printed so that we can review the translation as well. Of course, if a translator is found who has a connection to the newspaper itself, then he will naturally be interested in having his article published there. I am especially emphasizing this now because it would be good if at least one article in the newspapers would also address Yud Tes Kislev.

g) Surely you remember about the matter of books—especially those from Chavrat Dovvei Siftei Yesheinim—and also many books printed in Djerba (in Kabbalah as well as other areas of Torah). One only urges those who are already diligent.

Surely you have also arranged the new order of D'Sh"M (Divrei Shmuel), and gradually this order should also be publicized in those places where you have influence—of course mentioning that its founder was my father-in-law, the Rebbe. The new D'Sh"M order for Tevet is especially appropriate since it falls between Yud Tes Kislev and Chanukah: Yud Tes Kislev is Rosh Hashanah for the illumination of Chassidus—the inner dimension of Torah—and the miracle of Chanukah was also with oil (which represents secrets within secrets of Torah), found in a flask sealed with the seal of the Kohen Gadol sanctified among Israel—the Rebbe of this generation.
