קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ב מנ"א, בו מודיע אשר מציעים לזוגתו תחי' משרה בלונדון, וכן גם לו יש תקוה להסתדר בשם, וכן מקבל מכתבים מאוסטרליא שמציעים לו לבוא לשם, ובהדזוינט משתדלים עבורם להעתקה לארצות הברית:
הנה לדעתי כל זמן שיש ביכולתם לקרב את לבן של ישראל בצרפת ובפרט בפאריז, לאביהם שבשמים (הכוונה בזה להחזיק שם את ישיבת תו"ת וכן הת"ת) אין עליהם לזוז ממקומם, כי עבודת הקדש עליהם בכתף ישאו וידוע פי' הפשוט בזה שלא היו נושאים הכלים על בהמות ועגלות, ובנדון דידן אף שהנה"ב אין יכולה לשאת ולהבין מה זה ועל מה זה אבל מכיון שזה עבודת הקדש, הארון שולחן ומנורה כו' היינו נגלה ונסתר דתורה, ואמור שבתורה, הרי הם הם הקרובים אל הוי' ועליהם למלאות שליחותם במקום אשר לשם הביאתם הכוונה העליונה, וכח המשלח עמהם הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר דאשתכח בהאי עלמא יתיר מבחיוהי, ושלוחו של אדם כמותו.
מובן אשר דברי אלה מכוונים לא לבד אליו, אלא לכל אלו השייכים להנהלת תומכי תמימים בגשמיות וברוחניות. וניתנו להם הכחות להאיר את כל המדינה כולה בנר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה.
ביחד עם זה כדאי הדבר שיתחיל בהשתדלות נסיעה לאוסטרליא כיון שלפי מכתבו צריך זה להתארך זמן ארוך לפ"ע, והשי"ת יתן לו הרצון והחפץ המתאימים לרצון העליון ויחליט באופן המתאים לפניו בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I received your letter from the 22nd of Menachem Av, in which you inform me that your wife has been offered a position in London, and you also have hope to find a position there. You are also receiving letters from Australia inviting you to come there, and the Joint is working on your behalf for relocation to the United States.
In my opinion, as long as you are able to bring the hearts of Jews in France—especially in Paris—closer to their Father in Heaven (meaning: maintaining the Tomchei Temimim yeshivah and the Talmud Torah there), you should not move from your place. Sacred work must be carried on one's shoulder; it is well known that this means they did not carry the holy vessels on animals or wagons. In your case, even though common sense cannot grasp or understand what this is all about or why it is so, since this is sacred work—the Ark, Table, Menorah etc., representing both the revealed and hidden aspects of Torah and what is said about Torah—they are those who are close to Hashem. They must fulfill their mission in the place where Divine Providence has brought them. The power of the sender is with them—my revered father-in-law, the previous Rebbe, who is found in this world even more than during his lifetime—and a person's agent is like himself.
It is understood that my words are directed not only to you but also to all those involved in managing Tomchei Temimim both materially and spiritually. They have been given the strength to illuminate the entire country with the candle of mitzvah and Torah light—and especially with the luminary within Torah.
At the same time, it would be worthwhile for you to begin efforts toward traveling to Australia since according to your letter this will take a long time anyway. May Hashem grant you desires and wishes aligned with His will so that you decide appropriately both materially and spiritually.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that when one has an opportunity for sacred work—especially influencing others toward Torah—it takes precedence over personal advancement elsewhere. Divine Providence places us where we are needed most; our mission must be fulfilled there with strength and dedication.
