Shalom u'Vrachah!

Enclosed is the kuntres for the upcoming Purim days, and surely you will share it with all those under your influence so they will study it—to learn and to teach, to observe and to fulfill the conclusions and "therefore" from what is stated in the maamar printed in the kuntres. This applies even amidst trials, distractions, and confusion—to stand strong in actual observance of Torah and mitzvos, especially to increase strength and with extra effort in the holy work of proper education: teaching Jewish boys and girls the mitzvos of Hashem and His Torah.

If there are places where—through open decrees or cunning schemes—there are attempts to seize synagogues or study halls to cause Jews to forget G‑d's Torah and mitzvos (G‑d forbid) or to lead them away from G‑dliness (G‑d forbid), one must know that specifically at a time of decree, when concealments multiply until darkness is called light (matters that should have increased holy light are used instead to increase the darkness of kelipah and sitra achra), "then specifically strength is given from Above to transform darkness into light because it is good."

And when we guard—even with self-sacrifice—the young boys and girls, then according to the language of the Midrash: when there are children there are elders; there are sages; there are Torah scholars; there is Torah; there are synagogues and study halls—and ultimately—the Holy One Blessed Be He causes His Shechinah to dwell in this world, this lowest physical world, because sitra achra is subdued and darkness is transformed into light so that the infinite light of G‑d shines.

Not long ago I received your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh, and I await good news from you—that you have begun organized work—with success in all matters. The blessings of my father-in-law the Rebbe—for success in all general and specific matters—will accompany you always.

It is a bit surprising that throughout all this time there have been no letters from you—regarding your general matters, your set times for study both in Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus, or your personal matters discussed with me while you were here. Surely you will inform me in your next letter. Also about your wife's involvement regarding family purity.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that even during times of spiritual darkness or opposition, one must stand strong in Torah observance—especially by strengthening education for children—and that such steadfastness draws down special strength from Above to transform darkness into light.
