Moreh Nevuchim (Guide for the Perplexed) is one of the most significant works in Jewish philosophy, authored by Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, commonly known as Maimonides or the Rambam. Written in the late 12th century, this book was originally composed in Judeo-Arabic and later translated into Hebrew and other languages.
Maimonides (1138–1204) was a preeminent medieval Jewish philosopher, physician, and one of the most influential Torah scholars of the Middle Ages. Born in Córdoba, Spain, and later living in Morocco and Egypt, he made substantial contributions to Jewish law, philosophy, and medicine. His other major works include the Mishneh Torah, a comprehensive codification of Jewish law, and various treatises on medicine.
