In response to your question—regarding teaching and guidance on Chanukah and its themes—especially for soldiers, in addition to the miracles of the many being delivered into the hands of the few, etc.—here are a few points (briefly—which will surely suffice for you as I know you, as it is said: "Give to a wise man and he will become wiser"):
Every soldier stands at the entrance of his home (the home of every member of the Jewish people wherever they are—note a) from outside—and his role is not just simple defense but defense in such a way and by lighting the candle (his soul—the candle of Hashem is the soul of man) so that it illuminates both the house and also outside—with the candle of mitzvah and Torah light. He should not be affected by the fact that the sun has set and there is darkness in the world; on the contrary—if not for this he would not have been recruited and there would be no need for an army. Similarly, the time for lighting Chanukah candles is specifically after sunset. One should not be satisfied with today's achievements even if they are in a manner of mehadrin min hamehadrin (the most beautiful fulfillment), but rather add day by day with more illuminating candles at his doorway from outside—increasing both inner light and outer light.
Additionally: Our Sages said that Yehudah Maccabee performed great feats with Hashem's help... Maccabee—Mi Kamocha Ba'elim Hashem ("Who is like You among the mighty ones, Hashem"). This means that everyone in their battle—whatever battle it may be: in life's struggles, battles to protect holiness and spirituality, etc., and certainly regarding literal warfare—it must be inscribed on his banner and in his heart: Mi Kamocha Ba'elim Hashem ("Who is like You among the mighty ones, Hashem")—and then he will not fear anyone because Hashem is with him; victory is assured. As it says: Hashem Elokecha walks within your camp to save you and deliver your enemies before you; there will be peace in the land. For it will be fulfilled as our Torah of truth states: And all peoples of the earth will see that Hashem's Name is called upon you and they will fear you—and especially through meticulous observance of tefillin—as our Sages explained regarding this verse, as I wrote in my previous letter...
