Regarding what you wrote about the methods of study for students who are about to leave the walls of yeshiva—it is understood that it is impossible to establish a single, rigid rule in this matter. The general approach of our school of thought is based on what is written in Kuntres Etz HaChaim by the Rebbe Rashab, father of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory. However, in our generation—a spiritually impoverished generation—it is necessary to add, and this applies to all classes, the study of those halachos required for daily life.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that while there can be no one-size-fits-all curriculum for yeshiva graduates, it is essential—especially today—to ensure practical halachah relevant to daily living is included in every class alongside traditional learning.
