6142 – The Power of Women in Redemption

Holy Letters of the Rebbe, Volume 16, letter number 6142. Baruch Hashem, the 29th of Adar, 5748, Brooklyn. Agudas N’shei uBnos Chabad of Montreal, may Hashem be with you, blessing and peace.

The Rebbe writes that it was with pleasantness that he received their letter from the 27th of Adar—“zach,” meaning clear, like “shemen zayis zach,” clear oil—together with the enclosed contribution of Maos Chitim, the funds given to help people for Pesach, for Kfar Chabad in the Holy Land, may it be built and established.

The Rebbe continues with a blessing that Hashem should help that their work continue to increase, both in quantity and in quality. Through this, it will certainly bring an increase in Hashem’s blessings to each and every one of the members, together with their families, in all that they need, both physically and spiritually. The Rebbe is blessing them that they should continue to grow and continue to receive Hashem’s blessings in ever greater measure, both in material and spiritual matters.

The Rebbe then emphasizes that we find ourselves in the special period between Purim and Pesach. The miracle of Purim came about through a Jewish woman, Esther Hamalka. Likewise, regarding Pesach, our Sages of blessed memory teach that the redemption from Egypt came in the merit of the righteous Jewish women, the Nashim Tzidkaniyos.

It is further written that the final redemption will be in a similar manner to the redemption from Egypt, as we say, “Kimei tzeischa me’eretz Mitzrayim arenu niflaos”—“As in the days of your going out of Egypt, I will show you wonders.” The future redemption will follow the same pattern.

Hashem will bring about this redemption through the merit of Jewish women. The Rebbe is writing to these women and pointing out that just as the miracle of Purim came through Esther, and the redemption from Egypt came through the merit of the women, so too the redemption from this exile will come through the merit of Jewish women.

The Rebbe explains that since we are in the last generation before the final redemption, Jewish women have both the ability and the responsibility. Through their proper Jewish conduct—both in their own lives and by influencing others—they have the merit to bring the true and complete redemption closer, very soon, through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.

The Rebbe is telling them that this is an opportunity that should not be missed. We are very close to the coming of Moshiach, and this will come about through the merit of the women. Therefore, they should strengthen themselves in proper conduct and also influence others.

The Rebbe concludes by blessing them with a kosher and happy Pesach, to each and every one of the members together with their families. This is the Rebbe’s blessing to these women from Montreal who contributed to the Maos Chitim fund. The Rebbe highlights their special role in the redemptions—through Esther, through the redemption from Egypt, and in the future redemption—and encourages them to take advantage of this special opportunity, which will bring down all of Hashem’s blessings. The Rebbe blesses them with a kosher and joyful Pesach for them and for all their family members.

הרבי כותב שקיבל בנעימות את מכתבם מיום כ״ז באדר—“זך”, מלשון נקי ובהיר, כמו “שמן זית זך”—בצירוף התרומה למעות חיטים, כספים המסייעים לנזקקים לחג הפסח, עבור כפר חב״ד בארץ הקודש, שתיבנה ותכונן.

הרבי מברך שהקב״ה יעזור שעבודתן תמשיך לגדול ולהתרחב הן בכמות והן באיכות. ועל ידי כך יתוסף בוודאי בברכת ה׳ לכל אחת ואחת מהחברות עם בני משפחותיהן בכל מה שהן צריכות, הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות. הרבי מברך אותן שימשיכו לגדול ולקבל ברכות ה׳ במידה מרובה יותר, הן בעניינים גשמיים והן בעניינים רוחניים.

הרבי מדגיש שאנו נמצאים בזמן מיוחד בין פורים לפסח. נס פורים נעשה על ידי אישה יהודייה, אסתר המלכה. וכן לגבי פסח, חז״ל אומרים שגאולת מצרים הייתה בזכות נשים צדקניות.

עוד נאמר שהגאולה העתידה תהיה בדומה לגאולת מצרים, כפי שנאמר: “כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות”. הגאולה העתידה תהיה באותו אופן.

הקב״ה יביא את הגאולה הזו בזכות נשים יהודיות. הרבי פונה לנשים אלו ומדגיש שכמו שנס פורים היה על ידי אסתר, וגאולת מצרים הייתה בזכות הנשים, כך גם הגאולה מהגלות הזו תהיה בזכות הנשים היהודיות.

הרבי מסביר שכיוון שאנו בדור האחרון שלפני הגאולה, לנשים יש את היכולת וגם את האחריות. על ידי הנהגה יהודית טובה—גם בעצמן וגם בהשפעה על אחרות—יש להן הזכות לקרב את הגאולה האמיתית והשלמה במהרה, על ידי משיח צדקנו.

הרבי מדגיש שזהו זמן מיוחד שאין להחמיץ אותו. אנו קרובים מאוד לביאת המשיח, והדבר יבוא בזכות הנשים. לכן עליהן להתחזק בהתנהגותן ולהשפיע גם על אחרות.

הרבי מסיים בברכה לפסח כשר ושמח לכל אחת מהחברות יחד עם בני משפחותיהן. זו ברכת הרבי לנשים ממונטריאול שתרמו למעות חיטים. הרבי מדגיש את תפקידן המיוחד בגאולות—באסתר, ביציאת מצרים, ובגאולה העתידה—ומעודד אותן לנצל הזדמנות מיוחדת זו, שתביא עמה את כל ברכות ה׳. הרבי מברך אותן בפסח כשר ושמח להן ולכל בני משפחותיהן.
