במענה על מכתבו, בו שואל אשר יש גן ילדים בעירו והמורים שבו הם אינם יהודים אבל המנהל הוא שומר תומ"צ, והוא - המנהל - מבטיח אשר אין לומדים המורים עם הילדים ע"ד אמונתם, וכו' ובמילא בדעתם לשלוח לשם את בתם הילדה ... תחי':
הנה לכל לראש צריך לברר אם כנים הדברים אשר אין חשש ללימוד אמונה [ת]פילה בגן הילדים, וכן ג"כ בענין האכילה וכיו"ב, ואפילו לאח"ז הנה אם אפשר לסדר את בתם באופן אחר, היינו באופן שלא תהי' בחבורה תמיד ותחת השגחת אינם יהודים במקום שהם הבע"ב והמחנכים, כי במדה ידועה הרי בגן הילדים חודרים המורים יותר לתוך נפש הילד ממה שבבתי ספר, ואם אין מקום כלל לחשש הנ"ל, הרי יה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה ויהי' לו, ממנה ומשאר ילידיהם שיחיו, אידישן נחת.
דמיתי אשר יהי' בפה בהתועדות י"ט כסלו, ולכאורה, כבר באה העת שיביא אתו עמו כמה מחברי קהלתו, וכנראה שלא בא וגם אינני יודע אם ערך התועדות י"ט כסלו במחנו, וחבל על כל יום התועדות העובר ואינו משתמש בו לקרב את לבן של ישראל לאביהם שבשמים ולתקנם באהבת השם אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל, כי הרי הכחות ניתנו לנו ואם אין אנו משתמשים בהם הרי ח"ו אבוד הוא של כחות נשיאינו הק' רבוה"ק זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

In response to your letter, in which you ask about a kindergarten in your city where the teachers are not Jewish but the principal observes Torah and mitzvos, and he—the principal—assures that the teachers do not teach the children about their faith, etc., and therefore you are considering sending your daughter there... First of all, it is necessary to verify if it is indeed true that there is no concern of teaching faith or prayer in the kindergarten, as well as regarding food and similar matters. Even after this, if it is possible to arrange for your daughter in another way—that is, so she will not always be in a group and under the supervision of non-Jews in a place where they are the authorities and educators—because to a certain extent, in kindergarten the teachers penetrate more deeply into the child's soul than in schools. If there is absolutely no room for the above concern, then may it be G‑d's will that it be with success and that you have from her and your other children true Yiddishe nachas.
I thought you would speak at the Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen, and apparently the time has already come for you to bring with you several members of your congregation. It seems you did not come and I also do not know if you held a Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen at all. It is a pity for every day of farbrengen that passes without using it to draw Jewish hearts closer to their Father in Heaven and to refine them with love of Hashem, love of Torah, and love of Israel. For we have been given these abilities—and if we do not use them then, G‑d forbid, it is a loss of the powers our holy leaders have given us.
