נשען על פגישתנו בפאריז בשנת תש"ז ועל הרושם שנשאר לי מפגישה זו, אשר על פי דין תורה מעמידים יהודי בחזקת ישרותו, הנני כותב שורתיים אלו.
חבל שבהיותו כאן לא היתה לנו הזדמנות להפגש, ואסתפק כאן בכתב ובקיצור, מאחר שלמותר להאריך על דבר אחריות השעה בקשר עם הבחירות בארצנו הקדושה, ת"ו.
קוה קויתי אשר הבחירות בכלל לא תתקיימנה באשר אין הזמן גרמא לכך, ועל כל פנים אשר תהי' אחדות שלמה בתוך היהדות החרדית בארה"ק ליצור חזית מאוחדת לבחירות.
למותר להאריך לדכוותי' אשר בשאלה הנוגעת לטובת הכלל, הנה על כל מפלגה לוותר על רווחים מפלגתיים המנגדים לטובת הכלל, ולמותר להאריך לאיש חרדי אשר לענינים הנוגעים ליהדות החרדית דין קדימה על כל חשבונות של ריוח גשמי אפילו אם ריוח זה בטוח ואין צריך לומר אם הוא מדומה ומוטל בספק, ובפרט אשר ריוח מדומה זה יכול להיות גם קרוב להפסד.
כוונתי לחזית המאוחדת בתוך היהדות הדתית בארה"ק אשר מוכרחת היא לא רק לטובת הכלל אלא גם לכל אחת מהמפלגות. והנני פונה לכ' כלאיש חרדי אשר מצדו ישתדל בכל מאמצי כוחותיו והשפעתו ליצור חזית דתית מאוחדת אם אפילו הענין קשור עם ויתורים מפלגתיים. והנני בטוח אשר ישים את ענין היהדות החרדית בכללותה בראש וישפיע בכיוון זה בכל מקום שהשפעתו מגעת.

Relying on our meeting in Paris in 5707 and the impression it left on me—since according to Torah law a Jew is presumed upright—I am writing these few lines.
It is unfortunate that while you were here we did not have the opportunity to meet, so I will suffice with this brief letter, as it is unnecessary to elaborate on the responsibility of the moment regarding the elections in our holy land, may it be rebuilt and established.
I sincerely hope that the elections will not take place at all because now is not an appropriate time; but at the very least, there should be complete unity within the charedi Jewish community in Eretz Yisrael to form a united front for the elections.
It is unnecessary to elaborate to someone like yourself that when it comes to matters concerning the public good, every party must forego partisan gains that conflict with this good. It is also unnecessary to explain to a charedi individual that issues affecting charedi Judaism take precedence over any calculations of material gain—even if such gain seems certain, and all the more so if it is doubtful or illusory; especially since such illusory gain can even lead to loss.
My intention is for a united front within religious Jewry in Eretz Yisrael, which is necessary not only for the general good but also for each party individually.
I therefore appeal to you as a charedi Jew: do your utmost with all your strength and influence to create a united religious front—even if this involves party concessions. I am confident you will place the interests of charedi Judaism as a whole at the forefront and will influence others accordingly wherever your reach extends.
