Commitment to Torah Study

The Rebbe inquires whether the recipient is maintaining his Torah study schedule as previously discussed, emphasizing the importance of consistency in learning and referencing the teaching that neglecting study for one day results in a double loss.

B"H, 9 MarCheshvan, 5711.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

I am interested to know if you are keeping to the study schedule we discussed before your departure from here, and how many pages, etc., you have actually learned.

It is well known from Megillas Chassidim (quoted in Yerushalmi at the end of Berachos): Yom Ta'azveini Yomayim E'ezvecha ("If you abandon Me for one day, I will abandon you for two").

I would appreciate it if you inform me regarding the above matter...

Summary

The Rebbe highlights the critical importance of consistency in Torah study and encourages reporting on one's progress. Even brief lapses can have a multiplied effect, underscoring the need for steadfast commitment.
