Correspondence with the Rebbe

The Rebbe's letter to Rabbi Yisrael Abuchatzeira, dated 26 Teves 5712 (1952), warmly greets him upon his aliyah (immigration) to the Land of Israel. The Rebbe bestows blessings for his arrival and emphasizes the spiritual significance of this transition, expressing that Divine Providence has entrusted Rabbi Abuchatzeira with a special mission in the Holy Land.

The Rebbe highlights Rabbi Abuchatzeira's role as a "living spirit" among the Sephardic Jewish community, urging him to strengthen Torah observance and mitzvah fulfillment. A particular focus is placed on the importance of safeguarding the education of children, ensuring they are raised with fear of Heaven and the traditions of their holy ancestors, within institutions conducted in purity and holiness. The Rebbe encourages vigilance to prevent children from falling into secular or unrestrained educational environments, G-d forbid.

In recognition of Rabbi Abuchatzeira's dedication and self-sacrifice in this mission, the Rebbe offers heartfelt blessings for longevity, continued vitality, personal well-being, and abundant success in his efforts to increase and glorify Torah among the Jewish people.
