Matusof, Shlomo

מטוסוב, שלמה

Rabbi Shlomo Matusof (1917 - Rosh Chodesh Kislev 2007) was the Rebbe's emissary and the director of Chabad institutions in Morocco. In his youth, he served as the assistant director of the Tomchei Temimim yeshivas in Samarkand and Pocking. He was the first emissary sent directly by the Rebbe. He worked on behalf of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch in Marseille, France, and later was sent by the Rebbe to Casablanca, Morocco, where he worked for about fifty years. He established Chabad institutions in approximately seventy cities and villages throughout Morocco.
