בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מי"א חשון, בו כותב אשר מבקר הוא בכפרים בשליחותו של הרה"ג והרה"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ באמונה כו' וכו' מוה"ר שלמה שי מתוסאף. וגודל הזכות אשר בזה - אין די באר, וידוע פתגם הבעש"ט (אשר שמענוהו כמה פעמים מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע) שכל אחד ואחת מישראל חביב אצל הקב"ה באין ערוך יותר מחביבות של בן יחיד אצל הורים שנולד להם לעת זקנתם, ומעתה יש לשער מה גדול הזכות כשמקרב את לבו של בן יחיד זה לאביו שבשמים, וביחוד שהוא כותב שקשור זה ג"כ עם טרחה גופנית כי צריך לרכוב על הבהמה וכו' הנה לפום צערא אגרא.
ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שיראה גם בעיני בשר הצלחה בעבודתו בקדש זו, אשר זהו השכר היותר גדול, וכפסק המשנה שכר מצוה - מצוה, ויומשך זה ג"כ בהצלחה בעניניו הפרטיים, ובודאי כפסק רז"ל מעלין בקדש - יוסיף אומץ בכל הנ"ל וכל המוסיף מוסיפין לו מן השמים בהמצטרך לו בגשמיות וברוחניות.

I pleasantly received your letter from the 11th of Cheshvan, in which you write that you visit villages as an emissary of Haraha"g v'Haraha"ch iy"a nu"n oseik b'tzt"z b'emunah etc. etc. Moreinu HaRav Shlomo from Tosaf.
The greatness of the merit in this cannot be adequately described. It is known, as the Baal Shem Tov said (which we have heard several times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory), that every single Jew is infinitely precious to the Holy One, blessed be He—more than an only child born to parents in their old age. Therefore, one can estimate how great is the merit when you bring the heart of this only child closer to his Father in Heaven.
Especially since you write that this also involves physical exertion because you must ride an animal, etc.—according to the effort is the reward.
May it be G‑d's will that you see with your own eyes success in this holy work—which is itself the greatest reward. As stated in the Mishnah: "The reward for a mitzvah is a mitzvah." May this also extend to success in your personal matters. Certainly, as our Sages ruled: "One ascends in holiness," so may you increase strength in all of the above—and whoever increases is given more from Heaven in all his material and spiritual needs.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that bringing another Jew closer to G‑d carries immeasurable merit and brings blessings both spiritually and materially. Even when it requires effort or hardship, such work is deeply valued Above and brings true success.
