Agudas Chabad in the Holy Land (אגודת חב"ד באה"ק) refers to the central organizational body representing Chabad-Lubavitch activities and institutions in Eretz HaKodesh (the Land of Israel). The organization serves as a hub for Chabad's communal, educational, and religious initiatives throughout the region.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, maintained a direct and supportive relationship with Agudas Chabad in the Holy Land. In a letter dated 16 Sivan 5711 (1951), the Rebbe addressed the administration with blessings and practical guidance. He enclosed a letter originally sent to educational institutions in the United States regarding the issue of summer breaks in schools. Recognizing that similar practices existed in Eretz HaKodesh, the Rebbe authorized Agudas Chabad to utilize and publicize his letter as they saw fit, for the benefit of local institutions.
The Rebbe emphasized the importance of sharing effective educational strategies across communities and encouraged the organization to adapt his guidance in a manner suitable for their context. He also requested detailed feedback on their actions and progress, demonstrating his ongoing interest and involvement in their work. The tone of the correspondence reflects collaboration, encouragement, and a strong commitment to the success of their holy endeavors.
