בתמהון הכי גדול קראנו במכתבו שאלותיו עוה"פ להודיע לו בנוגע עבודתו ב . . וכולי, בה בשעה שכו"כ פעמים הודיעו לו דבר ברור ומוחלט שבכל עניני . . יפנה ויתייעץ עם הרב וו"ח אי"א נו"נ רב פעלים ובעל מרץ . . וגם אישר קבלת הוראה זו, ובכל זה מדי פעם בפעם חוזר עוה"פ בשאלתו.
אפשר – אף שחשש רחוק הוא, שכוונתו שיהי' בידו כתב שמפטרים כולי ובמילא נוגע זה לענין הפצויים וכו'. וזה מכריח להדגיש עוה"פ שאיש אינו מפטר אותו מטעם הפשוט כי בנוגע לתפקידו יכול הוא אלא שאינו רוצה, ועד כדי כך העדר הרצון, אַז ער האָט זיך אַליין איינגעשמועסט שאינו יכול, וכפי שנדבר בזה בארוכה עם . . .
שלכן, א) באם

הוא בעצמו, הרי פטור הוא בידי אדם, משא"כ כשאחר יפטר אותו; ב) ובנוגע לפצויים הרי אין בזה ענין של פיטור מצד המוסד.
כאמור לעיל, חשש רחוק הוא, אבל גם זה דאַרף מען באַוואָרענען, אלא כיון שהמדובר הוא בכספי ציבור, והוא בכל מכתב ומכתב שואל עוה"פ ועוה"פ, הרי אין ברירה אלא להעלות על הכתב תשובות בלתי נעימות אלו.

We acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 21st of Cheshvan, as well as the copies from the book... in the package at hand.
With great astonishment we read in your letter your repeated questions about being informed regarding your work in... etc., at a time when you have already been told clearly and decisively several times that in all matters you should turn to and consult with the rabbi—an active and energetic person... You have also confirmed receiving this instruction, yet time after time you repeat your question.
It is possible—though it is a remote concern—that your intention is to have a written statement that you are being dismissed etc., which would affect severance pay and so on. This necessitates emphasizing once again that no one is dismissing you for the simple reason that regarding your position you are able to perform it but simply do not want to. To such an extent is this lack of desire that you have convinced yourself that you cannot do it, as was discussed at length with....
Therefore: a) If a person injures himself, he is exempt from liability by others—unlike when someone else dismisses him; b) Regarding severance pay, there is no issue here of dismissal by the institution.
As stated above, this is a remote concern, but even so it must be clarified. However, since public funds are involved and in every letter you repeatedly ask these questions over and over again, there is no choice but to put these unpleasant answers in writing.

Summary
