Shalom u'Vrachah! [3 Menachem Av, 5720] Your letter, in which you write about your impressions during Pesach and the farbrengen, etc., reached me after a significant delay. May it be G‑d's will that, as with every farbrengen, its effect will be felt throughout the entire year—even in daily life, in thought, speech, and action.

You write asking whether you will receive a response to your letter and whether there will be closeness and goodwill, etc. It is truly surprising that there is even a doubt or question about this. After all, this is the very nature of the Jewish people throughout their generations (see Sefer Tanya Kadisha at the end of chapter 1, and Iggeres HaKodesh section 12—this is true from both the perspective of the animal soul and the G‑dly soul).

This is especially so according to what is explained in Chassidus, beginning with its founder, our teacher the Baal Shem Tov of blessed memory—this year marks two hundred years since his passing. May it be G‑d's will that "as water reflects a face to a face" (so too...), and that the connection about which you write should be in the known manner—that is, by studying those subjects in our Torah of life. Through this, Jews unite with one another and with the Holy One Blessed Be He, as stated in the holy Zohar: "Yisrael (through and with) Torah and Hakadosh Baruch Hu are all one."

I hope you are increasing your studies in Chassidus—in addition to your studies in Nigleh of Torah—and thus fulfilling our Sages' teaching: "Great is study for it leads to action." Summary

The Rebbe teaches that inspiration from holy days like Pesach should influence us all year long. The natural bond between Jews stems from both their inner essence and Chassidic teachings; deepening Torah study strengthens unity among Jews and with G‑d.
