Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was pleased to receive your letter from Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh, the 9th of this month, informing me of your safe arrival in Canada and your beginning to settle in. May it be the will of the Master of Will, blessed be He, that you settle in a manner fitting for you both materially and spiritually, and be able to set fixed times for studying Nigleh Torah and Chassidus with expansiveness and peace of mind and body, and also increase strength in the area of tzedakah.

However, it is not worthwhile to wait until you are fully settled before establishing fixed times for study, because Torah—especially regular Torah study—is itself the vessel that draws down and receives both material and spiritual good. The sooner one prepares this vessel, the sooner blessing will come; and the greater the vessel is made, the greater will be the drawing down and receiving of blessing.

In due time I received your mishloach manot—a jug filled with Benedictine—and thank you for this. Enclosed is the booklet for Pesach with a general letter relevant to you. I will conclude with wishes for a kosher and joyous Pesach holiday, and that you should soon have proper settlement both materially and spiritually.

The Rebbe teaches that one should not delay beginning regular Torah study until all circumstances are ideal. Rather, immediate engagement in learning creates a vessel for G‑d's blessings—both physical and spiritual—to flow into one's life.
