Meir Meizlish (Torah Correspondent)

Meir Meizlish is an individual who corresponded with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, notably sending the Rebbe a precious historical document related to Chabad heritage.

Correspondence with the Rebbe

In a letter dated 3rd of Shevat, 5712 (1952), the Rebbe expresses heartfelt gratitude to Meir Meizlish for gifting him a letter written in the holy handwriting of the Mitteler Rebbe. This letter pertained to the Beit Olam (cemetery) in Haditch, the resting place of the Alter Rebbe, founder of Chabad. The Rebbe describes this gift as "extremely precious" and thanks Meizlish deeply for sending it, highlighting the importance of preserving and cherishing items connected to Chabad's spiritual legacy.

The Rebbe also notes the timing of the correspondence, which was close to the yahrzeit (anniversary of passing) of his revered father-in-law, the previous Rebbe, on Yud Shevat. In honor of this occasion, the Rebbe enclosed suggestions for appropriate conduct and a script for a food package, reflecting the custom of marking significant dates with acts of gratitude and positive deeds.
