I received your check from you and your wife, may she live, and the receipts are enclosed. I have heard much about you and am pleased that you remain as devoted as always. Now, after the histalkus (passing) of the Previous Rebbe, each one of us must feel an even greater sense of responsibility that has been placed upon us all and must awaken within ourselves greater and deeper strengths to continue the great and holy matters that the Rebbe—the Previous Rebbe—entrusted to us, so that they will be successful both materially and spiritually.

Certainly you have established times for Torah study; you should maintain them and add as much as possible for yourself, increase in acts of charity and kindness, and also influence others.

With blessings for proper health and long life for him and his wife, may she live.
