... It appears from your letter that there is now a channel of influence upon your brother sheyichyeh regarding matters of Judaism in general. However, this does not exempt you from utilizing your own influence on your brother sheyichyeh to draw him closer to Chassidus—its ways and customs. Do not be troubled by the fact that matters of Chassidus are being discussed with him at a time when he still needs to be influenced regarding basic Judaism. It is well known from the letter of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe (the Rebbe Rashab) of blessed memory (Kuntres Uma'ayan, end of chapter 22) that in our times, none of us truly knows the depths of the processes of refinement; therefore, one must work and be involved in all areas at once. In general, our Sages have taught that this world is like a wedding feast: 'Grab and eat, grab and drink...'
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that we should simultaneously influence others in both basic Judaism and Chassidus, as every opportunity should be utilized for spiritual growth without delay or hesitation.
