These are the Rebbe's letters to individuals about their own situations. Throughout, the Rebbe instructed people to consult an expert doctor and follow his guidance; anyone facing a medical question should do the same.
Alongside medical care, the Rebbe consistently advised people facing illness to strengthen the spiritual "vessels" for Hashem's blessing of healing:
Check the tefillin and mezuzos. This is one of the Rebbe's most frequent pieces of advice for health, and he explained that checking mezuzos in connection with health is a standard practice rooted in halachic sources (IK 3637). It appears in dozens of letters, usually together with following the doctor's instructions (for example IK 1765, 3437, 3688, 5856, 6846, 9919, 10685). In one letter he advised placing a kosher mezuzah near one's bed (IK 900); for migraines, carrying a checked mezuzah (IK 3201).
Together with this, the Rebbe often added: giving tzedakah daily, before davening on weekdays and before candle lighting on Shabbos and Yom Tov; saying Tehillim; setting times for Torah study; wearing a kosher tallis katan; and careful observance of taharas hamishpacha (IK 1279, 1378, 1615, 2436, 3071, 3665, 6132, 6210, 8874).
Above all, strengthen trust in Hashem as the true Healer, and let the practical steps be vessels for His blessing (IK 3902, 5544, 7532, 10685). Be cautious about unproven healing methods (IK 2158).
