Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 23rd of Adar, in which you write about your origins from Krementchuk, and that for several years you have been in Australia, and it seems to you that lately your memory has weakened. However, you do not mention your efforts to strengthen Yiddishkeit in yourself, your children (may they live), and also in your surroundings. These matters are interconnected: when one descends from a chassidic lineage and city, if only one desires, this influence can be felt even decades later. One must only wish to utilize this to the fullest extent. When a Jew strives to connect another Jew with the Blessed Creator—from Whom all blessings in every matter come—then Hashem grants the one who strives in this what he needs.
In my opinion, you should immediately begin acting appropriately in this area after consulting with our community members who are with you in your city—to strengthen Yiddishkeit in general and specifically the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch Yeshivah in Melbourne. Surely you can take part in this yourself and also influence others to do so. Then your prayer request—Chaneinu Me'Itcha Chochmah Binah V'Daas ("Grant us from You wisdom, understanding, and knowledge")—will be more readily accepted, as will other matters for which one prays daily before Hashem. Especially regarding memory: you should gradually memorize Mishnayos and also Tanya—at least a few chapters of each—and make sure not to overburden yourself with memorization; that is, if you see it is too taxing for you, pause for now and try again after some time.
Also, every weekday before davening in the morning give tzedakah. It would be worthwhile to have your tefillin checked as well as the mezuzos of your residence to ensure they are kosher according to halachah. From now on and going forward, make sure to keep the three daily study portions established by my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which are well known.
Blessings for good news in all mentioned above and for a kosher and joyous Pesach.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that strengthening one's commitment to Torah study (especially memorizing Mishnayos and Tanya), supporting communal institutions like the yeshivah, giving tzedakah daily, and ensuring kosher tefillin/mezuzos can help both spiritual growth and personal challenges such as memory loss.
