Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 2nd of Tevet, in which you write about your prayers and your mood connected to them, and how this affects your livelihood, etc.
We have heard several times a story from my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzukal lehavdil ben chayim lechayim zichrono yagen aleinu (may his memory protect us), that the custom of the early chassidim was to divide their prayer into several parts. That is, each time they would of course pray the entire prayer, but their contemplation on its matters and intention in understanding or explaining the words would be divided over several days so that over about a week or two they would complete the explanation of all the words once and then repeat. Therefore you too should do likewise. In your situation arrange that on weekdays your morning prayer should take about two hours from start to finish.
Regarding what you wrote that sometimes you repeat a word—my advice is to pray from inside the siddur; in any case this is correct and is advice for many matters.
I hope that every weekday before Shacharit you set aside some coins for charity; also after prayer and on Shabbat and Yom Tov you keep up with the monthly Tehillim portion—as Tehillim is divided by days of the month—to say it. It is also proper to have your tefillin checked as well as all mezuzot in your home to ensure they are all kosher according to halachah.
It is also proper for you to learn by heart from Sefer Tanya Kadisha from the beginning of chapter 41 until page 2 at the word "hamelech" (the king). When you contemplate on its content—that Hashem stands over him, He is absolute goodness—and it is promised that one who comes to purify himself is assisted; when a person sanctifies himself a little below he is sanctified much from above—surely your worries will diminish and decrease until they are completely nullified. We are commanded to serve Hashem with joy and gladness of heart specifically as explained in many places.
Since you write to me I hope that you have set times for learning Chassidus—which brings vitality and joy even into learning nigleh (revealed Torah) and mitzvah observance.
Blessings for good news in all mentioned above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches practical steps for uplifting one's mood during prayer: dividing contemplation over days, praying from a siddur, giving charity before prayers, checking tefillin and mezuzot, studying Tanya by heart, and serving Hashem with joy bring spiritual strength even amid material concerns.
