Shalom u'Vrachah!
It is proper to check the tefillin and mezuzos—to ensure they are all kosher according to halachah. Most importantly, one's conduct in daily life should be in accordance with the instructions of our Torah, the Torah of Life, and in fulfilling its mitzvos about which it is said 'v'chai bahem' (and you shall live by them). In addition to being G‑d's command, this is also the way to receive blessing in all that a person needs.

The Rebbe teaches that while checking tefillin and mezuzos is important, living every day according to Torah and mitzvos is essential for receiving G‑d's blessings in all areas of life.
