Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbat Kodesh and the one after that.

At an auspicious time, all those you wrote about will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), in accordance with the content of your letter.

Certainly it is unnecessary to remind you that as one increases in matters of Torah and mitzvot, blessings from Hashem are increased in all that a person and his household need.

Regarding what you wrote about your wife's visit to the doctor—it is surprising that you did not mention whether he instructed her to use compresses. Very often this alone resolves the entire issue, and perhaps it is worthwhile to ask the doctor about this even now.

As for your statement that you do not know what you want or what you are lacking—this seems to contradict the beginning of your letter. Since you write that some members of your household lack physical health and need healing, etc., it is well known what our Sages said: "The 248 limbs of a person correspond to the 248 positive commandments, and his 365 sinews correspond to the 365 prohibitions!" It is thus understood that a deficiency in the body should also be filled by strengthening the health of the soul. When vitality is added to the soul, literal vitality is also added to the body, increasing success in medical treatment. Furthermore, while regarding bodily health we pray for healing from Hashem because everything is in Heaven's hands—in regard to spiritual health, our Torah of life teaches us that aside from fear of Heaven (which is given over to human choice), nothing stands in the way of a strong will to ascend and increase in Torah from strength to strength. May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding all this.

You surely know about the three daily study portions—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which we have often heard from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), are suitable for every soul and a remedy for many matters. It is also proper that you check all mezuzot in your home so they are all kosher according to halachah. Additionally, your wife should maintain the practice of Jewish women to give charity before lighting candles every Friday afternoon and before each festival eve.

With blessings for good news,
In the name of my revered teacher and Rebbe shlita,
Secretary

Summary
