במענה למכתבו מיום 6/18 אין וועלכען איר שרייבט וועגען דעם געזונט צושטאנד, אייערען און אייער פרויס תחי' און אויך וועגען פרנסה.
עס וואונדערט מיר דער סגנון פון אייער שרייבען, אז נאך דעם ווי איר האט געזעהן מיט אייערע אייגענע אויגען די אפענע חסדים פון השם יתברך און די נסים זיינע ראטעווענדיק פון די לאגערען וכו' איז געפינענדיק זיך איצטער אין א ארט וואו די סכנה ר"ל איז גאר ניטא, בלייבט איר שטיין אויף דער פראגע, מאין יבוא עזרי, און פארגעסט אז גלייך נאך דעם שטייט דאך, עזרי מעם ה'.
זעלבסט פארשטענדליך אז מיט דעם בין איך ניט אויסען צו זאגען מוסר, און עס [איז] דאך באוואוסט דער מאמר רז"ל אל תדין את חברך עד שתגיע למקומו והוי דן את כל האדם לכף זכות, איך וויל נאר דא באלייכטען די זאך ווי זי איז, און דענסטמאל וועט איר זעהען, אויף וויפיל איר דארפט זיין שטארק בבטחון בבורא עולם ומנהיגו, און וואס אלץ מער עס וועט זיין שטארקער דער בטחון, אלץ פריער וועט איר זעהען א הוספה אין די ברכות פון השם יתברך.
און נאך מער איז דאס נוגע אין אייער מצב, וואס אפילו זוכענדיק ארבעט אדער א אנדער ענין פון פרנסה, פילט דער צווייטער אויף וויפיל איר זייט זיכער אליין צו באקומען די ארבעט און דעם ריוח און דאס ווירקט אויף יענעם צו ערפילען אייער פארלאנג, און ווי מען זעהט דאס אויך במוחש.
זעלבסט פארשטענדליך אז מען דארף טאן אויך בדרך הטבע אבער דאס אויבען געזאגטע, איז אויך איינגעשלאסען אין טבע, אויך איז פארשטענדליך אז מען דארף צוגעבען אין ענינים פון מצות, וואס דאס איז דער צנור און מיטעל צו פארגרעסערען די ברכות פון השם יתברך אין דעם וואס מען נויטיגט זיך.
עס וואלט געווען א גלייכע זאך, מען זאל בודק זיין אייערע תפילין, און אויך די מזוזות אין אייער דירה, אז זיי זאלען זיין כשר'ה ווי דער דין איז, און אייער פרוי תחי' זאל אפהיטען דעם גוטען מנהג פון בנות ישראל הכשרות צו געבען אויף צדקה פאר ליכט צינדען יעדער ערב שבת און ערב יום טוב. זעלבסט פארשטענדליך אז דאס דארף זיין בלי נדר.

In response to your letter from June 18, in which you write about your and your wife's health situation, as well as livelihood. I am surprised by the tone of your writing: after you have seen with your own eyes the open kindnesses of Hashem and His miracles—saving you from the camps, etc.—and now finding yourself in a place where there is truly no danger at all, you still remain with the question: 'From where will my help come?' forgetting that immediately after it says: 'My help is from Hashem.'
Of course, I do not intend to rebuke you, and as is well known the saying of our Sages: 'Do not judge your fellow until you reach his place,' and 'Judge every person favorably.' I only wish here to clarify the matter as it is; then you will see how much you need to strengthen your trust in the Creator of the world and its Leader. The stronger this trust is, the sooner you will see an increase in blessings from Hashem.
This is even more relevant in your situation: even when seeking work or another matter of livelihood, others sense how confident you are about getting the job or profit yourself—and this influences them to fulfill your request, as we also see tangibly.
Of course one must also act according to natural means; but what was said above is also included within nature. It is also understood that one should add in matters of mitzvos, for this is the channel and means to increase Hashem's blessings in what one needs.
It would be appropriate for you to have your tefillin checked, as well as the mezuzos in your home—to ensure they are kosher according to halachah. Your wife should maintain the good custom of Jewish women to give charity before lighting candles every Friday afternoon and before Yom Tov. Of course, this should be done without making a vow.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that strengthening trust in Hashem brings increased blessings. Alongside natural efforts for health and livelihood, practical mitzvah observance—such as checking tefillin and mezuzos and giving charity—serves as a conduit for divine blessing.
