Shalom u'Vrachah!
You write about your wife's health situation and the doctor's opinion regarding pregnancy, etc. In such matters, it is understood and obvious that you must consult a local halachic authority who will instruct you according to Torah law—our holy Torah and the Torah of life—as one should not decide such things on their own.
It is also appropriate to have your tefillin and the mezuzot in your home checked to ensure they are all kosher according to halachah. Your wife should continue the fine custom of upright Jewish women to set aside, without a vow, charity before lighting candles every Friday afternoon and before each festival.
Regarding financial hardship: it is well known from our Sages that increasing in charity and distributing it in many installments is an effective remedy (see Iggeres HaKodesh sec. 21). One of the auspicious times for this is every weekday morning (see Chassidus on the verse 'VaYashkem Lavan BaBoker'—"And Lavan rose early in the morning") before morning prayers (see introduction to the Siddur)—to set aside a few coins for charity.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that in personal health matters one must seek halachic guidance rather than rely on personal judgment. He also emphasizes maintaining kosher tefillin and mezuzot, giving charity regularly—especially before Shabbat and each weekday morning—and that increased charity brings blessing even in times of financial strain.
