במענה על מכתבו מג' תשרי, בו כותב אודות... ואשר עולה במחשבת מי שהוא, שעשו לה כשפים ר"ל וכו' ושואל דעתי בזה.
והנה יאמר להאשה הנ"ל אשר תסיח דעתה לגמרי מכל הענין, ותקבל על עצמה להיות זהירה במצות השם יתברך ויתעלה בכלל, וביחוד במצות המסורות לנשים ובעיקר בדיני וחוקי טהרת המשפחה, נדה, הפסק טהרה, טבילה במקוה כשרה דוקא, ולא ממימי העיר וכו', ותרבה בהכנסת אורחים כפי יכולתה, והבעל שלה יבדוק את התפילין שלו וכן את המזוזות בביתם שיהיו כשרות כדין, ובכל יום חול קודם תפלת שחרית יתן איזה פרוטות לצדקה, וכשיחליטו לעשות כל האמור לעיל בלבב שלם ויתחילו בזה תיכף ומיד, הנה מלך מלכי המלכים הקדוש ברוך הוא ישמרם מכל צרה וצוקה ח"ו, ויגדלו את ילידיהם שיחיו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים.

In response to your letter from the 3rd of Tishrei, in which you write about... and that someone is thinking that witchcraft (may G‑d protect us) was done to her, etc., and you ask my opinion on this.
So, tell the aforementioned woman that she should completely dismiss all thoughts about this matter, and accept upon herself to be careful in the mitzvos of the blessed and exalted Name in general, and especially in those mitzvos entrusted to women—primarily the laws of family purity: niddah, hefsek taharah, immersion specifically in a kosher mikveh (not city water, etc.). She should also increase her hospitality according to her ability. Her husband should have his tefillin checked as well as the mezuzos in their home to ensure they are kosher according to halachah. Every weekday before Shacharis he should give some coins to tzedakah. When they resolve to do all the above wholeheartedly and begin immediately, then the King of kings, the Holy One blessed be He, will guard them from all distress and trouble (G‑d forbid), and they will raise their children for Torah, marriage, and good deeds.
With blessings for inscription and sealing for good and for good news in all the above.
