איך באשטעטיק די צדקה לדעתי וואס איר האט געשיקט, וואס איך האב פארטיילט אויף צוויי חלקים: א העלפט אויף דער הת[ח]ייבות צו דרוקן די פסקי דינים, און א העלפט אויף אונזער בשותפותדיקער ארבעט מעבר לים. וועגן קבלות, כל זמן איר שרייבט ניט אז מ'זאל שיקן, שיקט מען ניט.
בנוגע צו די ענינים פון ידידנו הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ וכו' מו"ה יוסף שי' ראבינסאן, איז מיר א גרויסער וואונדער וואס איר האט ביז איצט ניט ארויסבאקומען די הלואה. איך האף ערב פורים צו זיין אויפן ציון פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, און וויבאלד אז די טשעקס ליגן נאך בא אייך, וועט איר זיי אפשר האלטן ביז נאך פורים.
בייגעלעגט די קבלה פאר דער נדבה פון $35 לעילוי נשמתו של אפרים ע"ה גאלוב.
אפשר קענט איר מודיע זיין דעם נאמען פון דער מוטער פון דעם נפטר.
א הערצליכן יישר כח פאר דער בשורה טובה וועגן מר... שי'. עס וואונדערט מיר וואס ער האט מיר ניט געשריבן, אזוי ווי ער האט צוגעזאגט צו שרייבן די גוטע נייעס.
האט ער אייך איבערגעגעבן וועגן אינהאלט פון אונזער שמועס, ווען ער האט זיך אנגעשלאגן צו געבן $3000 צו דרוקן פון ספרי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, און איך האב אים אויף דרויף געענטפערט, אז ער דארף זען, אז דער זון זאל גלייך אנהויבן לעגן תפילין טעגליך, און נאר נאך דרויף ווי ער האט איבערגעחזרט וועגן די געלט, האב איך עם געזאגט, אז מ'דארף ניט קיין דריי, זאל זיין צוויי א האלב און דאס וועט גיין אויף הדפסה פון די ספרים כנ"ל. איך האף אז ער וועט האלטן ביידע הבטחות, סיי בנוגע תפילין, סיי בנוגע די התחייבות אויף הדפסה, און מען זאל קאנען איינער דעם אנדערן אנזאגן גוטע בשורות תמיד כל הימים[2].

Regarding the matters of our friend Harav vavac"h iy"a nu"n etc. Moreinu HaRav Yosef Robinson, I am greatly surprised that you have not yet received the loan. I hope to be at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, on Erev Purim; and since the checks are still with you, perhaps you will hold them until after Purim.
Enclosed is the receipt for the donation of $35 for the elevation of the soul of Ephraim a"h Galov. Perhaps you can inform me of the name of this departed's mother.
A heartfelt thank you for the good news regarding Mr... It surprises me that he has not written to me as he promised to share good news. Did he tell you about our conversation when he committed to give $3,000 for printing my father-in-law’s sefarim? I replied that he should see that his son immediately begins putting on tefillin daily; only after he reiterated about the money did I tell him that three is not necessary—let it be two and a half—and this will go toward printing these sefarim as mentioned above.
I hope he will keep both promises—regarding tefillin and regarding his commitment for printing—and may we always be able to share good tidings with each other all our days.
